A friendly, low-rise Club Resort set over 7 hectares of lush gardens, providing good accommodation and facilities for a relaxing holiday. Close to the beach, and bars and cafes, this middle of the range hotel offers excellent value.

Accommodation Description

Just 50 minutes transfer from Constanta International Airport, the Vox Maris Club Resort is located in the resort area of Costinesti. Situated by the shores of the Black Sea, this Club Resort was originally used by Nicolae Ceaucescu, the former head of the Romanian Communist party, to host and entertain his political friends and colleagues. The Club Resort is low rise and lies across 7 hectares of lush green land, palm trees and exotic flowers. A warm feeling is exuded providing a comfortable and relaxing environment and accommodation. Entertainment is limited, the gym is quite extensive, or simply enjoy the sunsets and if you fancy, take a stroll down to the nearby cafes and bars. Watersports are located nearby and offer a vast array of opportunites from the beach. The hotel is low rise, quite flat and is fairly wheelchair friendly. However, rooms are not equipped for people in wheelchairs and it is much easier if one has an able-bodied helper.

Note: The Vox Maris Club Resort is officially graded as 4* at the time of writing, however Peltours grade this as a very good 3* property, offering superb value for money.

  • There are approximately 5.5 Romanian Lei to 1 UK pound. The hotel does offer money exchange. We recommend that you change your currency prior to travel
  • Electric current is 220 volts AC. an adaptor is necessary (usually 2 pronged)
  • Romania enjoys warm summers and cold winters. In summer, cool cottons are best and formal wear, including tie and jacket, is not necessary, particularly in the Resort areas, although in cities (such as Bucharest) people tend to make an effort. In evenings, the temperature can drop in the winter and a warm jacket or alike is recommended.

Note: We recommend that you take your own towel for the pool and beach as these are not supplied. Flip-flops or alike are also very useful.

  • Eating out is generally very cheap compared to the UK and terrific value.
  • Duty free facilities are cheap but may be fairly limited at Constanta International Airport. If you do particularly want to be sure of something, ensure you buy it on the aeroplane or at your UK departure airport. Typical duty free costs at the airport: 200 cigarettes approximately £10
  • Hotels in Romania do not generally have tea or coffee facilities in the rooms. Take a travel kettle with you if this is important to you.
  • The way of life in Romania is a little slower than in the UK although the service is generally of a very high standard.
  • Standards generally do vary from country to country and you should not expect them to be the same in Romania as they are in the UK
  • We recommend that you do not drink the tap water, but do drink a minimum of 3 litres of bottled water per day in order to avoid dehydration and sunstroke. You should exercise common sense and use plenty of sun creams for protection from the sunshine. Cold beer and hot sunshine are not a good combination
  • Pools are not attended by lifeguards. Swimming is at your own risk.
  • Swimming pool depths are not always clearly marked so exercise common sense and never dive into the swimming pool
