Golf in Taba Heights - the course
The 18 hole Championhip course meets all PGA standards.
There is a full practice and driving range facility which is located close to the clubhouse, which features a pro-shop, locker rooms and snack bar. The clubhouse offers great panoramic views of the Red Sea, marina, mountains, and practice area.
The course itself has an elevation of between 4 to 70 metres above sea level, making for testing undulating greens. There are a number of measures in place to protect the course from the arid environment. Four large lakes and three flood diversion canals channel the water that comes down from the mountains to the sea during the rainy / flood periods, protecting the course and the surrounding area.
There are 5 tee locations on each hole, undulating fairways and greens, and four large water hazards / lakes.
Par is 72 (for the 18 holes course) and is 6450 metres (7100 yards) from the championship tees.

Golf in Taba Heights - sustainability
The golf course has grass that has been transported into the region. It is Seashore Paspalum Salam Var' grass type, which can withstand brackish water for up to 8,000 ppm (salts). This particular grass was chosen as it it is an environmentally friendly grass type. It requires less water, reduced fertilisation and pesticide applications and delivers a great surface for playing golf on.
The Rain Bird computerised irrigation system applies water to the course through the use of a sophisticated weather station that calculates the required amount of water using ET (Evaporisation) data from the surrounding atmosphere along with a VFD (variable frequency drive) state of the art pumping system. All the piping used for irrigation has been underlain and has been produced by the resort's own recycling plant utilising discarded plastics from the hotels. The water in the lakes is treated wastewater filtered and cleaned at the resort's own water plant and mixed with fresh water drawn from deep natural desert wells.
