Taba Heights

Fly from your chosen UK Airport to Taba.  Your holiday will begin at the 5* Marriott Beach Resort, in Egypt's dreamy Red Sea resort of Taba Heights.  Here you will be able to relax and soak up the sun, try some watersports or even some scuba diving.  Your stay is on Half Board at this fabulous hotel.

Highlights of Jordan - Day 1

• Drive to Taba Heights marina for your fast boat crossing to Aqaba (Jordan)
• Drive to Petra, the famous red rose city carved out of rock
• Travel by horse or on foot to the Dam area then visit the spectacular temples and tombs
• View the Roman theatre
• Rest of the day at leisure

• Day at leisure
• Take the following optional tour: Wadi Rum -Cost £89: The magnificent geological phenomenon once an important centre for the Nabateans with the ruins of a temple found at the foot of the great massif of Jebel Rum.

• Depart Petra around lunch time and drive to the northernmost point of the Dead Sea, for 2 full days of pampering and relaxation - deserved after the 4-5 hour drive.

Highlights of Jordan - Day 4

• Day at leisure.  Why not try some of the local spa treatments or perhaps explore this amazing country with one of the following optional tours.

1. Full day exploring the desert castles - Cost £65: Magical and mystical, these castles seem to rise out of the desert sand.  This tour will explore ancient castles including the one at Azrak.
2. Full day to Madaba/Mount  Nebo/Baptismal site - Cost £89: Madaba is the biblical Medeba of the Moabites, famous for its incredible mosaics, most of which are more than 1400 years old. 10kms west of Madaba is Mount Nebo reputed to be the tomb of Moses and presumed to be the site of his death and burial place.  From the site of the church, take in a breathtaking view accross the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.  On a clear day you can even catcha sight of jerusalem.
3. Full day tour to Jerash - Cost £72: Known as the "Pompeii of the East", Jerash is a Greco-Roman city considered to one of the Decapolis.  Visitors can spend hours wandering along the imposing colonnaded streets exploring the many temples, theatres, plazas and Roman baths.
4. Half day trip to Jordan's capital city of Amman - Cost £55:  The capital of the Hashemite kingdom of Jordan offering much to explore.  Many civilizations have left their mark on Amman with its modern arts scene, shops restaurants and coffee houses.  In addition, ancient parts of the city are located downtown including the Citadel.

• Jordan Tour available only when taking a 14 night holiday to Taba Heights
• Maximum occupancy in one room is 2 adults + 1 child (2-11 years)
• Itinerary may change according to prevailing conditions.  Price does not include entrance fee, payable locally, to entrance of site at Petra.
• You will be required to pay locally: US$8-10 for Jordanian departure tax
• VISA:You will be required to pay for a Jordanian visa locally, Cost approx US$20.
• Recommended local tipping: US$6 for the guide; US$3 for the driver; US$2 for the horse boy for the tour.  Optional tours at your discretion.

Petra Marriott - Petra

Ideally located for Petra, all rooms have air-conditioning, bathroom, hair dryer.  The hotel offers Italian a la carte dining (pay locally), outdoor pool, Turkish Bath and sauna (payable locally)

Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa - Dead Sea

Set in luxurious surroundings with majestic views and sunsets.  Most rooms offer a view of the Dead Sea and have air-conditioning, bathroom, hairdryer and mini-bar.  Achoice of a la carte dining (payable locally), beach and pool bar, 3 swimming pools with 4 whirlpools, and a host of invigorating treatments using the natural elements of the Dead Sea (pay locally).
