Itinerary


DAY 1

Fly from London Heathrow Airport direct to Constanta Airport. Upon arival, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel 3* Delta in Tulcea. The transfer time is approximately 2 hours. (Dinner will not be provided this evening as you will have a meal on board the aircraft.) 


DAY 2

A wonderful day dedicated to the famous Danube Delta. The Danube Delta is certainly a highlight of the trip, being home to more than 300 species of birds, 160 species of fish, 1150 species of plants and more than 2000 couples of pelicans. Today will show you , during an incredible 6 hour boat trip on the channels and sands of the Delta, a few pearls from the natural treasures of the waters. Fisherman's lunch on board the boat. Overnight in your hotel in Tulcea. There is no driving today.  


DAY 3

Departure to Carpathians. On the way to Sinaia, visit the Hunting Museum of Carpathians from Posada and Cocos in Dobrogea. Dinner and overnight in your hotel in Sinaia. There is approximately 6-7 hours of driving today.  


DAY 4

In the morning visit the Peles Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Central and Eastern Europe, built in neo- Renaissance German style at the end of the 19th century. In the afternoon visit the Bran Castle, Known as the Castle of Dracula, built as an eagle nest on a roack which guards the narrow pass of Bran. In the evening, walk into the  historic centre of Brasov including St Nicolas Church, Black Church and the Old Town Council Square. Festive Romanianevening with Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra at the Citadel restaurant. Overnight at 3* Capitol in Brasov. There is approximately 2 hours driving today.


DAY 5

Departure to Sighisoara. Visit the medieval citadel of Sighisoara, known as the last medieval citadel still fully inhabited in Europe, dating back 1208 under the name of Castrum Sex. There is much to see including the Tower Museum, the medieval weapons collection, the Vlad Dracul House (the house where Dracula is supposed to have been born and now a cosy restaurant), the Covered Stairs Passage a nd much more. Dinner and overnight in your hotel in Sighisoara. There is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes driving today.


DAY 6

Depart towards Sibiu. On the way visit the three round walls fortified  church fro Biertan included UNESCO'S List of World heritage. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of Sibiu for one hour into the medieval citadel old Sibiu. Visit the residence of the former governor of Transylvania, the Bruckenthal Palace, which shelters the Art Museum. Visit the traditional Folk civilisation Museum Astra in Dumbrava Park. Dinner and overnight at 3* Continental in Sibiu. Today, there is approximately 2 hours of driving in total.


DAY 7

Depart to Romania's capital city, Bucharest; crossing the famous and beautiful Carpathians mountains alongside the picturesque Valley of Olt. This will include visiting Cozia monastery erected in 14th century by Mircea the Eldest, one of the greatest ruler Princes of Wallachia. Also visit the Curtea de Arges monastery, architectural jewel from 16th century mentioned in one of the best known Romanian legends - Master Manole, referring to the human sacrifice for creation of a masterpiece. Afternoon of freetime in Bucharest. Festive farewell dinner with a gypsy band at a traditional Romanian restaurant in Bucharest. Today, there is approximately 5 hours of driving in total.


DAY 8

Morning sightseeing of Bucharest, including visits  to the Palace of parliament which is the second largest building in the world; you will also visit the Archbishop's Complex. After lunch transfer from Bucharest to Constanta Airport for your return flight to the UK. Transfer time is approximately 4 hours to the airpor

Flights depart every Saturday from 3rd June - 26th August, operated by BMI from Heathrow Terminal 1.
Flight timings are as follows:

Departs: Heathrow - 1720   Arrives: Constanta - 2235
Departs: Constanta - 2325  Arrives: Heathrow - 0059*
Check-in - 2 hours 30 minutes prior to departure

*following day
