We respect the privacy of our customers; therefore we are committed to the following privacy policy, which is designed to give you peace of mind and confidence.

In order to process your booking and to ensure that your travel arrangements run smoothly and meet your requirements we (and your travel agent) need to use the information you provide (such as name, address, any special needs/dietary requirements etc).

We take full responsibility for ensuring that proper security measures are in place to protect your information. We must pass the information on to the relevant suppliers of your travel arrangements such as airlines, hotels, transport companies etc. The information may also be provided to public authorities such as customs/immigration if required by them, or as required by law.

Additionally, where your holiday is outside the European Economic Area (EEA), controls on data protection in your destination may not be as strong as the legal requirements in this country. We will not, however, pass any information onto any person not responsible for part of your travel arrangements. This applies to any sensitive information that you give to us such as details of any disabilities, or dietary/religious requirements. (If we cannot pass this information to the relevant suppliers, whether in the EEA or not, we cannot provide your booking. In making a booking, you consent to this information being passed on to the relevant persons).

What personal information do we ask for?

Whether you are booking a holiday, requesting a brochure, or registering for our E-Newsletter, we will ask for your name, your postal address, your telephone and fax number and e-mail address. We also require a 24 hours contact name and number in the UK for the period you are abroad. This is in case of emergency or for any unforeseen circumstances.

If you are booking your holiday online, we'll also need your credit/debit card details (including card number, cardholder name, expiry date and start date for Mastercard) in order to take payment and confirm the booking on-line. If you're paying by debit card we may also need to take the start date and issue number of the card.

How does Peltours use this personal information?

Brochure Requests & E-Newsletter
We need your name, address and/or e-mail address so that we can send out your brochure order, and/or advise you of special offers/promotions we think you would be interested in.
You can unsubscribe from receiving the E-Newsletter at any time.

Online Bookings
We need your name so we can confirm these details to the relevant hotels, airlines, resorts etc.

We also need your address so that we can send you a confirmation invoice as well as your travel documents and in case we have to write to you about any part of your booking in advance of your holiday.

We would need your telephone number and e-mail address in the unlikely event that we need to contact you urgently about your booking. In addition, we require a contact name and number in the UK for the period while you are abroad, in case of an emergency.

We require details about your travel insurance policy. This is an essential part of the booking as we are required to advise you that you must have comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. This does not have to be Peltours travel insurance, but we will refuse your booking if you decline to take any travel insurance or if you refuse to advise us of the details of your policy. This is for your own protection and will assist us in helping you in case of an emergency.

We may also use this information to let you know about any special offers/promotions we think would be of interest to you.

We may also use your IP (Internet Protocol) address to diagnose problems with our server and administer the site - monitoring visitor traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop and improve the Peltours website further.
We need your credit card details so that we can collect payment for your booking.

Information you supply to us will be passed to our suppliers (such as airlines, hotels, and transport companies) and agents only where necessary for the purposes of booking your holiday. This may include the transfer of information outside the EEA (European Economic Area).

How does Peltours Travel protect customer information?

All the information you give us is protected by a secure server. The secure server uses SSL (Secure Socket Layers), which encrypts all information you enter before it is sent to us. The information is only de-encrypted when it reaches our server.

We also have two Firewalls (security and intrusion detection devices) and virus protection in place to protect our internal information from the outside Internet.

Does Peltours website use cookies?

Yes, Peltours uses 'temporary session cookies’. A cookie is a small piece of information sent by a web server to store on a web browser so it can later be read back from that browser. This is useful for having the browser remember some specific information, such as keeping track of your details through the booking process.

The cookies that our site places on your computer do not, however, store any information other than an identification code that can be linked to the more secure information stored in our own database - your personal information is never available to any third party website. This cookie will automatically expire and be removed from your PC 20 minutes after you finish using our site.

Will Peltours disclose any of this personal information to third parties?

Peltours will only disclose your name and booking details to our suppliers for operational purposes. We will not pass on your details to other companies for marketing purposes.

We won't disclose credit/debit card numbers unless we believe in good faith that the law requires it.
