Both Monarch Airlines and XL Airways are unable to carry pregnant women if they have passed the 34th week of pregnancy by the time of the return flight. If you are 28-34 weeks pregnant, you will need to carry a doctor/midwife certificate confirming that you are fit to fly. This certificate will only be accepted if it is dated not more than 14 days prior to the start of your trip, it states the expected date of delivery of your baby and confirms that you are in good health and they believe that there is no reason why you cannot fly.
Mothers are not permitted to travel for the first 14 days after giving birth and newborn infants are not permitted to travel for the first 7 days after being born. Please contact your airline directly if the baby was born premature. Please note, extra legroom seats may not be available to pregnant women for safety reasons.
