The historic hillside town of Taormina is located above two bays on the eastern coast of Sicily between the delightful seaside villages of Letojanni and Giardini Naxos. The ancient theatre of Taormina with its stunning panoramic position has been refined as one of the most important historical sites on the east coast. It is the second largest ancient theatre in Sicily which was originally used by the Romans for gladiator fights, and nowadays it is used for music and theatrical performances with great acoustics.
