Holiday in Agadir, Morocco

The leading beach resort in Morocco, Agadir has long been a favourite among British holiday makers. Agadir boasts a 10 km long beach and baths in the glorious African sunshine over 300 days a year. Built around one of the most beautiful bays in Africa and overlooking the giant Atlantic Ocean, Agadir is a large seaside city that offers calmer, more relaxed atmosphere from other buzzing Moroccan cities. Although Agadir is a fantastic beach resort, the city has a lot more to offer. Visit the Old Kasbah - an ancient medina, a fortress, which was built for the local leader to live and protect the city when it was under attack. Sadly the Old Kasbah was badly destroyed by the earthquake of 1960, but its elevated position still offers the best view over the city, port and the beautiful bay. The view is very different at night time with twinkling lights over the city.

Agadir offers a wonderful array of restaurants and bars. It might be missing the authentic Moroccan feel but it certainly offers a wide range of options from local snack bars to gourmet cuisine to some of the most exciting nightlife spots in the Northern Africa.
