Taba
Situated in the north of the Sinai peninsular, Taba is one of the most picturesque regions on the Red Sea, with azure blue waters and stretches of sandy beach laid out before the breathtaking Sinai mountain range.

Mount Sinai
A religious site, Mount Sinai is of great importance to all religions as it is where it is believed that Moses received the Ten Commandments. Mount Sinai is best visited by hiking up the mountain overnight to get to the 2285m summit of the mountain by the break of dawn to watch the beautiful sunrise over the breathtaking view of the Sinai Mountains. A truly mystical and spiritual experience, Mount Sinai is one of the holiest historical sites. The hike takes three hours and there is a special route with steps all the way up.

St. Catherine's Monastery
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, St. Catherine's Monastery is a very popular excursion for Taba and Sinai visitors. The monastery is located at the foot of Mount Sinai and was built in honour of the burning bush depicted in the Old Testament. Today it is run by the Greek Orthodox Church and houses the world's second largest collection of illuminated manuscripts after the Vatican and also has beautiful doors, wall paintings and other fine religious ornaments.

Pharaohs Island & Saladin Fortress
Pharaohs Island, also known as Coral Island, is reached by a short boat ride from Taba. If sailing from Taba Heights, take the De Monfried sailing boat to the Island where you can visit the Fortress of Saladin, the UNESCO listed citadel built by the Crusaders and later captured and rebuilt by Saladin in the 12th century, and also snorkel and dive in superb dive spots around the island. The most famous of the dive sites is the Picasso Reef, an underwater mountain where you can see a variety of bright coloured fish including the unique Picasso Triggerfish.

Coloured Canyon
Sinai is known for its majestic Sinai Mountains and its colourful coloured canyon. Go quad biking if you're adventurous or go camel trekking for a more relaxing experience into Sinai's coloured canyon where you will be amazed by intriguing rock formations where sandstone rocks are tinged in hues of yellow, purple, red and magenta, making it hard to believe that these are natural and weren't painted.

The Fjord
One of the landmarks and most beautiful spots in Taba is The Fjord, a gorgeous bay between the dramatic Sinai Mountains known for its dazzling snorkelling and tranquil atmosphere. For experienced divers, there is The Fjord Hole which house amazing marine life and for less experience divers there is the Fjord Banana, a site shaped like a banana.

Diving & Water Sports
It goes without saying that the Red Sea is one of the world's best diving and water sport destinations. Taba and Taba Heights are blessed with amazing diving and Taba Heights is home to a 5-star state of the art water sports and dive centre called Waterworld. Taba Heights coral reefs house mimic octopuses and pygmy pipe horses, which are quite rare to see in other parts of the world. Waterskiing, windsurfing and parasailing are also popular as well as deep-sea fishing for groupers, snappers, rudderfish, and tuna.

Castle Zaman
Only 10 minutes away from Taba Heights stands the beautiful Castle Zaman, a medieval-style castle on a desert cliff top overlooking the Red Sea. This castle is open to any guest and is best known for its restaurant which serves stone-oven slow cooked delicious traditional Bedouin meals. The castle is also home to a bar, swimming pool with magnificent views of the sea, and a hidden museum with artefacts and fossils found in Sinai.

Taba Heights Salt Cave
The first of its kind in the Egypt, Taba Heights Salt Cave is the latest spa and wellness facility to the resort. It is an artificial manmade salt cave made entirely out of salt from the Dead Sea and Siwa Oasis. It is a natural healing facility with sun beds for you to lounge on as your body and skin takes in the minerals of the salts known to protect against certain disorders and diseases. A 45-minute session in the Salt Cave is a truly rejuvenating experience.

Eights Street Festival
Taba Heights hosts a weekly street festival in its town centre called El Wekala Street Festival which gathers guests and residents together for an evening of local entertainment, music and good food free of charge!

Day trips to Petra and Eilat
Taba Heights ideal location makes it a great starting point for visits to nearby sites such as Petra in Jordan and Jerusalem. Due to the neighbouring cities close proximity, tours are arranged from Taba Heights to go to Petra by ferry and Eilat by car for the day to see the sites and go shopping and then come back to your resort in Taba to relax and unwind. You essentially get three holidays in one!
Located at the northern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, Taba is a virtually unspoilt diving destination, the pristine coral reefs are close to the shore and the conditions are perfect for learners and intermediate divers.
