A horse-shaped bay, Naama Bay is a beautiful stretch of bright lights and sounds. If you are not staying at a hotel in Naama Bay then a visit must be made either during the day for swimming, diving an any water activity you can dream of on its beaches or at night for dining, shopping and late night dancing!
Ras Mohamed National Park
Egypt's oldest and most famous national parks is Ras Mohamed National Park. It is also one of the most famous diving sites in the world. Ras Mohamed is home to one of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world and on ground you can see strange rock formations, local wildlife, and mangroves. Located on the southernmost tip of the Sinai Peninsula, where the Gulf of Aqaba meets the Gulf of Suez, Ras Mohamed National Park is fringed with exhilarating reefs, marine life, and wildlife.
Snorkelling & Diving
Sharm El Sheikh is a diver's paradise. The most popular sites include the Shark and Yolanda reefs, the Eel Garden, and the Shark Observatory where you might spot some whale sharks, all at Ras Mohamed National Park. Tiran Island, located at the entrance of the Straits of Tiran, is a 1-hour excursion from Sharm and is a must-see for its beautiful beaches and amazing underwater marine life from sharks to manta rays to barracudas. Wrecks are also worth seeing such as the British Thistlegorm shipwreck and the Million Hope, one of the largest wrecks in the Red Sea.
Sharks Bay
Another popular bay which is a bit more relaxed and laidback than Naama Bay is Sharks Bay. Don't be fooled, you will not find any Sharks here. There are many stories as to why it is called Sharks Bay and locals when asked will each tell you a different story. With spectacular views of Tiran Island and the marina, Sharks Bay is a favourite among those that wish to relax and sunbathe in a picturesque surrounding. Diving and water activities are also available on this bay.
Nabq Protected Area
Nabq is one of the five protected areas in South Sinai and it is slightly north of Sharm on the narrowest part of the Gulf of Aqaba. It is mainly known for its extensive mangroves and is also home to a variety of ecosystems which result in a very unique nature. Many special plant species, only found in Nabq, can be seen as well as gazelles and other mammals, and rich coral reefs.
