Red Sea Diving
It is no surprise or secret that Egypt's Red Sea is one of the best diving spots in the world making Egypt a top dive destination with its year round sunshine and great temperatures over ground as well as under the waters. Red Sea resorts such as Hurghada, El Gouna, Sharm El Sheikh, Taba and Taba Heights are wonderful destinations for a diving holiday with endless dive sites to visit and an underwater marine world that will take your breath away. The Red Sea's amazing coral reefs have attracted thousands of unique marine species over the years, some only unique to this part of the world.
Egypt's Red Sea resorts are fully equipped for divers and are home to some of the region's best diving centres and facilities. You can get your license and PADI at most Red Sea diving centres so it is a great place to learn to dive and is also a paradise for experienced divers to really test their skills and push themselves over the edge with some very challenging dive sites across the Red Sea coast. From reef diving to wreck diving to deep diving, Egypt has it all. You will see sharks, lionfish, octopuses, turtles, manta rays, barracudas and a lot more in the Red Sea waters.
The Red Sea is home to 1,100 species of fish, 1,00 varieties of invertebrates, turtles and more than 200 types of soft and hard coral. This is thanks to the Red Sea being almost totally surrounded by desert on all sides, making it have an unusually high salt content. The diversity of geology is also great for divers as they venture sites around lagoons, sink holes and islands, as well as a high range of shipwrecks.
Please refer to Red Sea destinations section for more information on diving.
